What motivated or inspired you to get sober?

​My kids and desire for a good life. 
​

Who helped you along the way?

​GOD!
My parents, my therapist, my best friend, and Gateway (rehab) in the early stages. 
​

What keeps you going and how do you get through the hard times?

​My kids, God, and the self-worth I have since getting clean keeps me going. 
When times get hard I look at my kids. I practice mindfulness. Each day I remember what I'm grateful for and where I came from. 
​

What is your life like today?

​I am blessed beyond measure. I have custody of my children, a very good job, a vehicle, an apartment, and my bills are paid.
Most importantly I'm sober! 
​Without my sobriety and faith - none of this would be possible. 
​

What are your favorite Bible verses or quotes that help you in your recovery?

Advice for someone struggling with addiction or in their recovery:

Take it one day at a time. Learn to be capable of sitting with your emotions. 
Get in touch with God. 
You deserve a happy life, so make it happen!
