Pour out the Bottle

We need strong, Christian men

As a society that not only normalizes drinking, but encourages and celebrates it - we need to do better. There are far too many Christian women married to Christian men that are bound by this awful stronghold of addiction. As a substance abuse counselor and a fellow Christ-follower I know Jesus is the solution. Put down the bottle and put on the amour of God. Stop looking like the world. Stop believing the lies of the devil. Stop idolizing alcohol! Get down on your knees and surrender to God TODAY! 

They say it's not a decision
It's a disease.
Whatever you want to call it -
I pray it drives you to your knees.

I beg and bargain with God 
On your behalf I intercede.
"I'll do anything."
I pray. I plead.

When will you just surrender?
When will you see the light?
When will you open your eyes,
And give up this constant fight?!

When will you run from your addiction
And into the Father's arms instead?
Stop dancing with the devil.
Can't you recognize you're being misled?

He entices you with a bottle,
And like a baby you cry for more.
Put on the amour of God,
And even the score! 

Don't give the enemy a foothold.
Don't allow him a seat at the table.
Are you not a man of God?
Is our God not more than able?!

Won't you stand on His promises?
Isn't He your firm foundation?
Aren't you the leader of our household?
You will not be shaken!

I declare it for you, 
But I pray you'll claim it for yourself out loud.
Humble and submit.
God opposes the proud. 

He did not create you
With a spirit of fear,
He gave you courage and strength
Don't waste what He's gifted you here -

Listen to His word. 
Tie it around your neck lest you forget.
Make the devil cower!
Make him regret!

I need you, the kingdom needs you.
We desperately need strong men!
What will be your excuse
When you meet God in the end?

THIS IS A CALL TO ACTION!

In a world that tells us the worst thing we can do is offend someone - I'm here to tell you there's a lot worse that can happen - like us offending God. It's my sincere belief that it breaks God's heart when his children are controlled by a substance that is destroying their relationships and poisoning their bodies.
