"Whatever you do, give your best effort, as though you are doing it unto the Lord" Colossians 3:23 Today's Motivational Monday could be completely summarized with the above Bible verse. So many have pondered how to become motivated. What drives us? What keeps us going? How do we become energized and enthused about the every day mundane? I'll let you in on a little secret: The truth is, it's not about us or about "feeling" motivated. It's about doing the Lord's work, the Lord's will. Regardless of how we feel. Of course it's much more enjoyable if we are motivated or encouraged and hopefully a Colossians 3:23 mindset can provide just that... motivation and encouragement to strive for the best you have to offer as though you were offering it to the Lord. Let's Pray Dear Heavenly Father, How motivating it would be to serve you here in person. With what enthusiasm would we wake up to meet you at our job. How far would we go out of our way to care for you, if you were our next door neighbor. How much more of a priority would we make exercise and improving our health if we cared for our bodies as though we were caring for your precious body. How much more mindful would we be of the food we consume if we were feeding you instead of ourselves? What would we spend our time doing if we were doing all things as though for the Lord? Please God, keep Colossians 3:23 at the forefront of our mind today and throughout this week. Help us to view everything we do through the lens of doing it all for you! Let that be our encouragement, our motivation, our extra push to go above and beyond, be a little bit greater, a bit more compassionate, a lot more joyful! Let us care for ourselves and for others the way we would excitedly care for you! In Jesus Name, Amen Lord, we pray against any doubt that tries to creep in this week. Keep us from the temptation to make excuses or to be lazy. Instead with discipline and determination we just DO! And that's today's #MotivationMondayMessage: Do it! Whatever "it" is - do it as though you were doing it for Jesus Christ! Don't wait to "feel like" working out... Just go work out. Don't wait to feel like eating the salad... Just eat the salad! Don't wait to feel like going to work... get there early! And be the best employee at the job! Don't wait to feel motivated in your recovery... Just don't give in! Serve people, love people, care for yourself all in the name of honoring God. Until Next Time, Your Praying Friend Did you hear?!
