God blesses those who work for peace, for they will be called the children of God.
What does it mean to be called a child of God? Think about your own children or what it means to be your parent's child. Is there any greater comparison for us to understand the love of Christ? There is nothing like the love of a parent for their child.
If you have children of your own you know this first hand, but even if you don't, surely you've heard parents describe that when they first held their child it was a love greater than any they had ever experienced before. A love that they didn't even know was possible.
Imagine God feeling that way about each and everyone of us. Who wouldn't want to be loved like that?
When we work to create peace within our home, our school, our job, our relationships, our community - We are receiving God's abundant love and praise. Just as when your child does something that you are proud of them for; Your heart is overwhelmed with joy!
Challenge: When given the opportunity work to resolve conflict. Do something that makes God proudly proclaim:
THAT'S MY CHILD!
Dear Heavenly Father, Please forgive us for the times that we have curated conflict instead of pursuing peace. Whether intentionally or unintentionally. We ask that you would grant us wisdom and guidance. Give us a peaceful spirit that illuminates from the inside out. Help us to choose our words carefully; To speak peace into stressful situations. Help us to be strong in our convictions and able to be at peace in our decisions. We pray against turmoil, unrest, conflict, gossip, injustice, and division. We pray for a peaceful environment, a peaceful community, a peaceful country and a peaceful world. Lord, fill our hearts with peace. Call us your children. In Jesus Name, Amen
We hope you enjoyed today's message. Make sure to tell someone about Your Praying Friend, but more importantly tell everyone about Jesus!
