It's the first Monday of 2022 and we could all use a Mantra or two or TEN that will keep us motivated to continue working toward our New Year resolutions. Let us know which ones speak to you or share your own in the comment section! You never know who might need to hear exactly what you have to say. What Makes a Good Mantra? If the term "mantra" is unfamiliar to you or if you've only heard it associated with hinduism- let me give you a new definition. In therapy, a mantra is simply a word or phrase that is easy to remember and helps you in time of need. "This too shall pass" is a commonly used mantra. A mantra can be any short saying, quote or Bible verse that alleviates anxiety, provides encouragement, or motivates you to never give up! Essentially, it's positive self-talk and it's powerful! We all know our thoughts become our actions and our actions become our habits. So if we want to rid ourselves of unhelpful habits and instill healthier ones- we must begin with changing the way we think. It probably comes as no surprise that some of our most favorite mantras at Your Praying Friend are indeed Bible verses. There is nothing more motivating or inspiring than having God's word memorized for the exact moment we need it. So let's take a look at some verses that just may help you accomplish your goals in 2022. I have been going to Jeremiah 29:11 " For I know the plans I have for you, they are for our good and not for your evil; to give you a future and a hope."
