"Love prospers when a fault is forgiven, but dwelling on it separates close friends."
Misunderstandings, hurt feelings, pride, and jealously can all cause heartache in our closest relationships. It's rarely all one party's fault. Self-reflection and taking responsibility for our shortcomings can go a long way in repairing and restoring our relationships.
We all desire to receive forgiveness when we've messed up. But not all of us are so quick to offer forgiveness when we have been wronged.
Be the first one to ask for forgiveness and the last to hold a grudge.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Help us to heal from our hurts. Give us a spirit of love and forgiveness. Soften our hearts to be compassionate and understanding; Freely extending grace and mercy as you share both so abundantly with us. A grateful heart doesn't harbor resentment. A grateful heart recognizes that we are sinful and undeserving of your forgiveness and yet you choose to forget every fault and failure each time we repent. Remind us to do the same with our brothers and sisters. Lord, I've hurt you more times than I can count. You've forgiven me. Who am I to withhold forgiveness?
In Jesus name we pray, Amen
