Your Praying Friend
Dear Heavenly Father,
We pray for all of the families around this world that are affected by addiction. The parents who watch their child struggle. The children who watch their parents suffer. The grandparents who have seen these cycles of behavior time and time again. God, we lift all of them up to you in prayer today. Provide them the strength they need to continue fighting this battle. Provide them peace and serenity, resting in your promises. Provide them eyes to see their loved one as you do - worthy. Reveal to them the role that they should play in assisting their loved one. Teach them to set healthy boundaries. We've heard it said that a parent who loves their child will correct their child. Help these families to not stand idly by or to enable their loved one, but to instead set firm guidelines grounded by the roots of Your Word. Lord, protect their hearts and minds that they do not become entangled in the lies and manipulation that often accompany addiction. We pray that you give them discernment, wisdom and guidance to maneuver their way through the uncertainty that addiction causes. Lord, thank you for your loving kindness, your friendship, your direction.
