A New Year Prayer

A Prayer for the New Year

​Dear Heavenly Father, 
As this year comes to an end
We want to thank you for all the blessings 
And love that you've graciously given

So many memories
In 12 months past
Some good, some bad
Some that for a lifetime will last

As we look ahead 
To the coming New Year
We humbly ask 
That you remain near

We pray for our country
Forgive our backslidden way
We plead for your patience
And your mercy that is new every day

We pray for our friends and family
Our enemies, too
We pray that you would use us
To bring them to you

We pray for wisdom
We pray for self-control
We pray for the lost, the hurting, 
The searching soul 

We pray that this new year 
Brings new beginnings and fresh starts
We pray that it rights wrongs
And heals broken hearts

We pray it's filled with forgiveness
That resentment is thrown away
Replaced with overflowing gratitude, 
Kindness, and countless encouraging words to say

We pray for good health
And that we may be rich in all ways you bless
We ask you protect our minds
Alleviate all anxiety, depression, and overwhelming stress.  

We know adversity will come 
Please provide the strength to see us through
Remind us that no matter what happens
We can always trust in you.
